4 words that kill success
Want to be successful? Who doesn't right? Well don't use the phrase "I already know that". These 4 words make up a phrase that I've been trying to get my children to stop using but until my husband brought this short article home from work, I didn't realize why it was so important for them not to say "I already know that".
As soon as you start to think you know everything, learning experts say your mind shuts down. What happens, experts believe, is that an "ego-based mindset" makes it practically impossible for you to learn new things, grow your awareness, and achieve greater successes and breakthroughs.
You live in a world of constant change. Speed of change, the globalization of the work environment, and increased use of technology impact the flow of information used by organizations.
Individuals, too, are feeling the impact of these trends and finding it harder to keep up with the new demands in the workplace. They are finding their approaches to doing anything can become quickly outdated and their knowledge they acquired years ago is rapidly becoming obsolete. To thrive in today's world, people are realizing that formal training is not enough and that they need an open mind to all forms of learning.
In "The Fifth Discipline," author Peter Senge says a learning organization is"an organization that is continually expanding its capacity to create its future." He points out it is continuously learning new ways of doing things and also, forgetting old ways of doing things.
In "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," author Stephen R. Covey calls Habit 7,"taking time to sharpen the saw. exercising our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions regularly and consistently in wise and balanced ways."
"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether this happens at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps on learning not only remains young, but becomes constantly more valuable regardless of physical capacity." -Harvey Ullman
This is why self development is so important & having a good attitude about it because it helps us succeed at not only our business but in our personal lives & relationships. Always seek to learn something new.

Fun Fitness for Kids
This morning I did my 55 EZ Turbo Fire Class and when I was nearly done, Morgan came to the basement to find me. She started to try the moves I was doing & then quit. I think she got frustrated & gave up. After I was finished, I asked if she wanted to exercise too & she said YES! So I popped in the Shaun T's Fit Kids Club DVD & exercised for about 25 minutes with my 4 year old.
It is recommended for ages 7 and up but I have always taken those to be "suggestions" when it comes to things for my kiddos. Morgan was slightly uncoordinated when it came to the moves but was starting to get the hang of it as the video neared the end. I think she got tired when there was only about 3 minutes & was about to quit when I told her she just had 3 minutes left. She kicked it into high gear & finished it strong. The video has 2 workouts on it. We've only tried the first one so far. I must say that it does work the abs & has fairly simple moves. Shaun breaks it down so it is simple & fun & most kids & even adults won't realize how much of a workout they are getting because it truly is enjoyable. We'll be doing more of that in our house, especially when the older 2 get home.
Oh, and I found out a cool thing that I'm totally excited about. Since I'm a Beachbody coach, I can do a fundraiser with the school & for each Shaun T's Fit Kids Club DVD that is purchased, 40% goes to the school for the fundraiser. If you are interested in this for your school or know someone that is, please contact me. What a great way to help our kids & even parents get moving, get fit, & end the trend!

Shopping
Well, I finally did it. I just ordered a TON of stuff from Vistaprint for my business. I'm excited & hope that it doesn't really take them as long as it says it might in the shipping section.
On a side note, I finished the Shakeology Cleanse yesterday & was down 4.2 lbs. Definitely on my way to my goal weight. Do you have a specific number in mind? I don't. I have a 'in the area' number because I'm not sure what the scale will say & I don't really care but I would like to be comfy in my body again because I prefer not to have so many aches & pains. Turbo Fire routines as well as Shakeology have helped immensely with decreasing the aches I had but I still have some & I'd like them to go away altogether if I could. I'm sure what is left will continue lessening as I get in better shape.
Join me in the Wowy Gym to workout. You can even be entered to win cash or prizes. Nothing like getting rewarded from someone else for choosing to be healthy! Woohoo Beachbody for providing the opportunity to win great prizes & encourage people to be healthy.

Day 2 of Shakeology Cleanse
Ya know when you do something with a friend it seems a lot easier & more fun. Well that has been the case with doing the 3 day cleanse with my sister who has been visiting for a few days. Monday was my son's 7th birthday & for brunch we had stuffed French Toast with a fruit salad that was covered in yogurt, cool whip, & pudding mix. It was delicious. We topped that off with a dinner of quesadillas that were fried in butter & then ended the decadent day with a fabulously tasting but simple ice cream cake. And then my guts told me they weren't too happy with my food choices. That's when I had the brilliant idea to ask my sister to do the cleanse with me. I've done it before but I must say that it is a lot easier to say no to sweets & stuff when someone else is saying no to the goodies with you. She's leaving tomorrow though & so I'll be on my own. I have to find out if I need to send stuff with my sister so she can complete her day tomorrow too.
